A quiet stillness settles in as you step into the towering redwood groves of Muir Woods, where sunlight filters through a canopy of ancient trees rising more than 300 feet above the forest floor. Just beyond San Francisco, this protected landscape offers a striking contrast to the city, with deep green glades and winding trails that invite a slower pace.

Your private day begins with hotel pickup and a scenic drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. Along the way, take in wide-open views of the San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the city skyline before arriving at Muir Woods National Monument. Here, you’ll explore independently, following well-maintained paths through one of the last remaining old-growth coastal redwood forests in California.

As you walk beneath these towering giants, the peaceful surroundings reflect the legacy of John Muir, whose advocacy helped preserve this remarkable landscape. Established in 1908, Muir Woods remains one of the country’s most treasured natural sites, set within the larger Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
